Snowdon

On the 9th of April around 17 of us hiked to the top of mount snowdon with our mountain unicycles in aid of cancer research. As the date for this ride had been set a month or so before hand we didn't have much control over what the weather was going to be like on the day, not that you ever really do. As it turned the weather forecast the day before said that it would be clear in the morning and then get worse as the day progressed, so we set off early. We arrived at the meeting point at around 9:15am and we all set off around 10:15, it was raining a little and was more than overcast, but we where all in high spirits as we where looking forward to the descent and the sun coming out. Unfortunately the forecast was wrong! about a mile from the top we where met by a very nasty blizzard and we lost the group ahead as we could only see a few feet in front of us and the foot or so of snow and painful hailstones slowed us down some what. Some of our group wanted to turn back, but we managed to convince them to carry on as splitting up wasn't a safe plan and kit and I where not willing to turn around before the top. We finally maid it after three and a half hours hiking, and luckily the blizzard settled down. We only stayed at the top for about 10 minute as it was somewhere between -10 and -15°C and our camel backs had frozen and we where quickly joining them! The first mile down was nearly all snow which was great fun, as it's hard to heart yourself when landing in a foot of snow, we also let kit go in front as the crash dummy witch made spotting those big rocks under the snow a lot easier, After getting though the snow the weather started to clear up as we looked back up the mountain, and it seemed we had court the worst of it. We carried on down taking off layer as the weather warmed up, the
